Mission Statement
By caring for the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, this ministry works to promote devotion to Mary, the Blessed Mother of God, who intercedes for us to her son, Jesus Christ our Lord. St Bernadette's Ministry primarily prepares the Grotto Area for the Grotto Mass held at St Joseph Parish on Saturday evenings during the summer months.
The work can vary, is conditional on many factors and may alter depending on the weather. There are various tasks that are divided up, as many hands make the task light. Members of this ministry also follow a rotating seasonal schedule to change out the Grotto candles year round and are responsible for gardening certain areas surrounding the Grotto.
